The Monoliths are large one-off pieces inspired by robust rocks in nature. Stones always seduce me, somehow often revealing something sensitive in the midst of their concreteness; nuances of colour, softness versus sharpness of details, unbelievable shapes – sometimes looking manmade.
These stones have been controlled by the qualities of the glass as well as by me; they are the product of a dialogue between the material and myself during the blowing process, followed by a violent breaking through the layers of colour and clear glass to reveal the secrets of the glass and the inner space of the piece.
