Places of Natural Beauty combines many of the things that I love; tactility and texture, tension in forms and the intricacies of topographical maps.
The secretive black pods act as canvasses for the contours of actual places; specific real places which are named in the individual titles. A magical landscape of lakes, streams, valleys, hills and mountains is described on the surfaces of bulbous glass forms.
The topographical mapping has been carefully and free-hand copied and engraved onto the surface, the free-blown seductive vessels are completed with a perfectly pointed tip.
